Public Access and Parking Plan for Windham Primary School

We are excited about the new design of our parking and traffic pattern at our school.  We are confident that it increases visibility and safety of our students while allowing for more efficient traffic patterns and additional parking.  Below are some things that we need our staff and community members to know when accessing the building so we can ensure everyone’s safety.  In the first week of school additional staff and police will be present to help everyone acclimate to the new patterns.
Please read the section that pertains to your access of WPS below.

Visitors, Students, and Families:

Your access to campus has been designated only via the access road nearest to route 202 by the tennis courts.  It’s marked in yellow on the map and is now a two-way street that leads down to the west end of the school to designated spaces for student drop-off and parking.  These spaces are indicated in green on the map below.

Student Drop Off:  If you are dropping your student off at school there are two options.  When you pull down the access road there are five spaces closest to the building designated as parking spots if you wish to park and walk your child into our building.  If you wish to proceed a little further on the right you’ll enter our new parent drop off loop where you will be greeted by staff to simply open your door and let your child out then continue through the parking lot to loop back out towards the tennis courts.  There will most likely be a line developing that can continue down the access road as we safely get each child out of their car.  Thanks for your patience during this process.

Student Drop-off Procedure
  • Drop-off will occur on the A-House side of the building.  Please drive down the road closest to the high school tennis courts to access A-House.  Cars will line up and drop children off at the curb.  Please follow the lead and directions of the staff members supervising and situated on the curb.
  • After dropping of children, cars will proceed on to the A-House parking lot near the playground and drive around the curbing to leave on the same road as they arrived.
  • If you plan to park and walk your child to an entrance door, please park in the A-House parking lot or B-house parking lot.
Student Pick-up Procedure
  • Pick-ups will occur in the cafeteria.
  • Parking will be out back by A-House.
  • You will enter through the side cafeteria doors to meet staff (please have your photo I.D. at all times or a Fastpass with a photo included on the pass).
  • Any dismissal before 2:40 will be considered an “early release” and will go on your student’s attendance record as such.
  • You can apply for a Fastpass to expedite pick up via online under the forms tab at http://www.windhamraymondschools.org/wsd_primary/
